• This is unlike any landscape book I have purchased previously. It is not just a collection of beautiful photos, Scott takes us through the art of landscape design. Going through the book is like taking a class; he describes in some detail what is planted and why. I have not been able to put it down since delivered. I highly recommend this book.
• This book is gorgoeus. The photographs and the writing make you feel as if you are wandering each exquisite garden. While the homes featured are clearly owned by those with wealth, Scott’s work made them look warm and welcoming. And his tips and explanations can be helpful to anyone. He is an expert on more than just horticulture and has an undeniable eye for design. I really enjoyed every page of this book.
• I was looking forward to this book arriving, because we are about to build a house and I was looking for inspiration. However, I found it to be disappointing overall, for the following reasons
  
  1. The featured gardens are lovely, but they all look *exactly* alike. Not much variety to spark the imagination.
  2. There isn’t really any exposition of the design process or how to make various design choices. I thought the writing was lightweight.
  3. And speaking of lightweight, the print was literally just that, written in a thin, spidery gray font that looked nice on the page but was annoying to read.
  
  I think for the money there are many better choices.
• Inspirations abound in this beautiful book of fabulous California gardens! I love the way Scott Shrader designs spaces that feel organic, elegant, and comfortable at the same time. Great book!
• An outstanding book, I absolutely adore everything about it. So many ideas from Scott Shrader great sense of space color and layers. Makes one wish to have more and more garden space. You will be pleased with your purchase. It is not a coffee table book but a thing of beauty, which Scott brought to life. Very informative and quite thoroughly descriptive. Endowed with a feel for the green world and a master’s eye for balance. I purchased many copies as gifts. This entire book is absolutely beautiful from beginning to end. The photographs are so incredibly dreamy. Absolute perfection and balance of old historical elements in a 21st Century Style of life. A MUST for any true lover of gardens and outdoor living. When looking for inspiration, I will reference this treasure for years to come. Thank you Scott for the talent and for sharing your gift with the world. I can't wait for future books
• If you dream of the perfect garden to live in, this is the book for you. The outdoor rooms he has created will make you want to spend every minute outside. Beautifully written, further showcasing his skills. Loved it.
• Scott is a genius! I have personally been to three homes that he has transformed! The hardscapes!! The landscapes! The plantings! The interior plantings! The views he has created are incrediable. Out of nothing the most beautiful of spots! Genius and the book is genius!
